Clear Aligners

A Discreet and Removable Orthodontic Option
Clear aligners, such as Invisalign® and Spark™ Aligners, offer a discreet and convenient way to straighten teeth without traditional braces. Made from clear plastic and custom-designed to fit your teeth, aligners gradually move your teeth into their planned positions while fitting comfortably into your everyday routine. They can be an effective treatment option for teens and adults with a variety of orthodontic needs.
How Do Clear Aligners Work?
Clear aligners use a series of custom-made trays designed to gradually move your teeth. Each set of aligners makes small, controlled adjustments to the position of your teeth as you progress through the series. You’ll wear each set as directed by your orthodontist before moving to the next one.
Small, tooth-colored attachments may also be placed on certain teeth to help the aligners guide specific tooth movements. These attachments remain on your teeth as needed and are removed when they are no longer necessary.
Throughout the process, you’ll visit our office periodically so our orthodontists can monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed.
What Can Clear Aligners Treat?
Clear aligners can be used to treat many common orthodontic concerns, including:
- Crowded or overlapping teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Crooked or rotated teeth
- Certain overbites, underbites, and crossbites
- Other alignment and bite concerns
The types of orthodontic concerns that can be treated with clear aligners vary from patient to patient. Our orthodontists will evaluate your teeth and bite to determine whether clear aligners are suitable for your needs.
Benefits of Clear Aligners
Clear aligners offer several benefits for patients looking for an alternative to traditional braces:
- Clear and less noticeable when worn
- Removable for eating, brushing, and flossing
- No brackets or wires
- Custom-made to fit your teeth
- Designed to fit into an active lifestyle
Wearing and Caring for Your Clear Aligners
For clear aligner treatment to be effective, it’s important to wear your aligners consistently as directed by your orthodontist. Aligners should be removed for eating and drinking anything other than water, as well as for brushing and flossing.
Good oral hygiene is important throughout treatment. Brush and floss regularly and clean your aligners according to the instructions provided by our team. We’ll also provide guidance on caring for your aligners and attachments throughout treatment.
Are Clear Aligners Right for Me?
Clear aligners can be an effective choice for many teens and adults, but they may not be suitable for every orthodontic need. Successful treatment also requires a commitment to wearing the aligners as directed and caring for them properly. Your orthodontist will consider your orthodontic needs, treatment goals, and lifestyle when determining whether clear aligners are right for you.
How Long Does Clear Aligner Treatment Take?
Treatment time varies depending on your orthodontic needs, the complexity of your case, and how your teeth respond to treatment. Wearing your aligners as directed and keeping scheduled appointments can help keep your treatment progressing as planned.
At your consultation, we’ll discuss your recommended treatment plan and provide an estimated treatment timeline.
